Welcome to the library

 Hey everyone,

remember anyone can get a study hall pass to the library.  To be sure to get one come into the library before 8am and sign up with our form.  Otherwise, go to your study hall and check in with your study hall teacher and make sure there is enough room in the library and use their sign-out sheet.  Other than that we hope everyone is having a great start to the year.

Soon, new books should start to arrive in the library.  As always if there is a book you would like to read and we do not have it use this form to let us know which title you would like.

Library News

The library is going to get a makeover this summer.  New carpet and paint are on the horizon.  We can't wait.  This means we will close the library before the school year ends for study halls so that we can begin to take books off the shelves in an orderly fashion.   This closure will happen after the final art show and probably right before finals week.

We have an author visit coming June 13. Ok so Lulu Miller, author of Why Fish Don't Exist, may not be actually coming here but she is planning to Google Meet with us for a QA session.  Lulu Miller works for National Public Radio and created the shows Radiolab and Invisibilia.  Why Fish Don't Exist is a memoir that incorporates Miller's investigation of Robert Star Jordan, a famous ichthyologist and the first president of Stanford University.   Why Fish Don't Exist has now been widely read by staff at FHS and has received overwhelmingly positive reviews.  We have multiple copies in the library as well as the audio version available thru Sora.  The book is only 200 or so pages but is packed with thought-provoking material and moves along thanks to Miller's beautiful prose.
